Wishing everyone of you a fantastic and injury free 2019. We are always looking for volunteers to help us keep WaDS the friendly, safe run that we are so proud of. Thank you to all our amazing volunteers, we appreciate everything you do for our runners, we have had some wonderful feed back from many of you saying how friendly and supportive our volunteers are. So it's only for me to sign off and let Hannah wow you! Our lovely statistician, Hannah volunteered with us and also raced to Pegwell to run with them, she has some great stats for us about the double. So we want to thank Kevin for taking on this challenge and wish him lots of love and luck from us.

Another you may have heard of though the run brief this morning, Kevin Hart from Dover was celebrating his birthday with us on NYD and is embarking on a year long challenge to run at least 5 km a day, so he has had a great start with the double today, he's raising money for 3 local charities, RNLI Dover, Dover 1st Response and Breast Cancer Now by running the Cliff Top Challenge, (which I hear is opening registration soon.) The Cliff Top Challenge is special to us here at WaDS as its organiser Chantelle, is one of our regular volunteers and a massive support to us. We look forward to seeing him again and again. I had a lovely conversation with a young lad this morning, who is truly inspirational, he ran his first parkrun today and is on the health kick of his life, losing weight and even saying sober on New Year's Eve, he was very proud of it and so he should be too. The opportunity to run 2 parkruns in one morning was just too tempting, we'd love to hear how many of you managed to get to Pegwell Bay or to Canterbury, or did you venture further? Send us your stories, we love hearing about you all. We were over the moon with the 146 of you who ran on Christmas Day, so with 231 runners this morning, we think we can safely say it was well worth the effort to get this event on. Well, you've out done yourselves and set a high bar for next year.
Just like Christmas morning, we had no expectations of how many runners we'd get on New Year's Day.
